The Edgemont School Foundation (ESF) established in 2018 the Edgemont Distinguished Alumni Award, which recognizes former students of Edgemont Jr./Sr. High School for their outstanding achievements and service. Award recipients typify the Edgemont tradition of excellence and have brought credit to the community through their personal accomplishment, outstanding service and professional achievement. They are an inspiration to our entire community.

Award recipients are recognized by our community during a special ceremony. Past recipients include:

  • 2017-2018: David Solomon ‘80
  • 2018-2019: Jimmy Pitaro ‘87
  • 2020-2021: Dr. Jeffrey Eckardt, ’63
  • 2021-2022: Dr. Manisha Juthani, ’90

The ESF welcomes nominations for recipients of the award. Anyone is free to submit a nomination. Nominees must either have graduated from Edgemont Jr./Sr. High School, or have attended the school for at least two years. Additionally, nominees must have graduated from high school at least ten years before the date of nomination. The ESF accepts nominations year-round.

When submitting a nomination, please keep in mind that this award is intended to recognize alumni for achievement in one or more of the following areas:

  1. Personal achievement, particularly as demonstrated by notable professional accomplishments.
  2. Outstanding service to the Edgemont community (including to the Edgemont School District), or outstanding service to the community in which they now live.
  3. Outstanding service to the larger community, including notable government or military service.

The ESF will appoint a committee to review all nominations. Members of the committee may include alumni, administrators, faculty and staff of the Edgemont School District, as well as other members of the Edgemont community.
